Although we do not know for sure, the origin of the fair would be related to the one in Manacor, which is held the following day (the third Sunday in September since the end of the 18th century), since the merchants who were going to sell their products at the fair in Manacor would stop the day before in Petra, taking advantage of the stay to sell. Now it has become an institutionalized fair that is established in the streets of Hospital and des Sol, as well as in the squares, from early Saturday morning.
